How Dare You Die on Me!

What a week it’s been! I’m single-momming it right now since my husband is out of town. This week my Jeep decided to just die on me. So disrespectful! I had just picked up both kids from their respective day care and there we are sitting in the parking lot with a dead battery. It was cold and rainy and I had absolutely no idea what to do! I called Humberto to ask him what to do, but he was busy and couldn't answer. I messaged some co-workers and luckily one of them lives near post. We waited a while since it was already 5 o’clock. I’m sure he caught traffic on the way back to post. Anyway, long story short, he was able to change the battery and get us on our way. We hung out in the car while we waited. Thankfully I had some fruit snack and my phone to keep the kiddos entertained. Something my son said mad me sad. He had taken a little longer to get his stuff together when I got to his classroom. He had just sat down to paint so he wasn’t too happy to see me arrive. I waited for about 15 min while he painted. Finally when Becca got crazy, I told him it was time to go. Anyway, when we got into the Jeep and it didn’t start he says, “Mom, what happend?" I replied, "I don't know. The Jeep won't start." As he was buckling himself in his car seat he says, "Maybe if I hurried-up, the Jeep would still start. Is someone coming to help us?” Ugh, my heart broke! I said, “Baby, it’s not your fault. These things happen and it doesn’t matter if you hurried or not, this just happened.” I don’t know why he put the blame on himself. I wasn’t upset. I hadn’t said anything to him about him not hurrying, etc. I said, “We’re going to figure it out and see if someone can come help us. We’ll just watch Netflix and eat some fruit snacks.” They were excited about that.

The whole ordeal lasted about 2.5 hours. It threw off our routine, but we made it home safely. Also, now I know what to do if this ever happens to me again. I call my insurance and ask for roadside assistance. Got it!

Lastly, today is my Friday. We have a four day weekend thanks to Martin Luther King, Jr. Why thank you, Sir! We’re heading down to the valley. Picture the Scene (my shop) is re-opening its doors after our remodel. Is it remodel or remodeling? Ehh, whatever. It’ll be an eventful weekend. I still have to go home and pack. We’ll see how everything goes!
